The Mission

The journey of personal development has no expiry date and is something we all need to work hard at, so well done on starting yours. You may find while opening up in your journal and getting out all the negativity that's been holding you back, you’re ready to talk more or you may just feel so much lighter and less angry - win win really.

When I first started creating this journal I felt very positive, but of course still had my moments. Weeks later I felt lost with no direction in life and found myself getting depressed. It was then that I realised I needed this journal and had to get my bum in gear to get it finished.

We all seek some kind of therapy in our lives, whether that be talking to a professional, a friend/family, exercise, having a pet (my dog has given me plenty of free therapy, along with early morning wake up calls, over the years). Some keep it all in because they either don’t feel like they can talk about things or just don’t want to burden people. Some see ‘opening up’ as a sign of weakness - I see it as a sign of strength.

It’s not good to keep everything built up inside. I know not everyone feels comfortable talking, but you will feel so much better getting negativity and bad thoughts out of your mind. That’s where The Rant & Rave Journal comes in!

About Me

Firstly, I want to thank you for buying this journal and congratulate you on taking steps to getting back to you! It’s not an easy journey, but it’s definitely one that is worth it. I also want to say a massive thank you to my amazing family and friends who have been there for me throughout my dark/bad days. Last, but definitely not least, my little Fur Baby Charlie who has given me love, loyalty and cuddles for many years – the best therapy there is.

I have always been a loud person and thought maybe I should be quieter or more elegant or this or that, but I have recently accepted who I am and realised NO I should be exactly like this! Why? Be yourself, everyone else is taken!  Love that quote.

I have spent my entire adult life working in an office and thinking ‘there has to be more to life’ and realised, life is what you make it no matter where you are or what you’re doing. They say you should have a 5 year plan, but who knows where life will take you or who you will meet. I now have a monthly plan – that’s good enough for me and takes off the pressure.

I have travelled a lot and enjoyed my life to the full, but it has come with it’s trials and tribulations, like all of us, and I have suffered with my mental health from a young age. We all have some form of trauma in our lives and have had to deal with the loss of a loved one, falling out with family/friends, a stressful job etc. – all of this builds up within us and if we do not let it out our body/mind will soon let us know about it. This is what gave me the idea for this journal ‘Rant and Rave’.

I would just like to finish off by saying, I am not a professional therapist, nor have I ever trained in Psychology, I am your average every day woman (always with a lot to say, haha) who wants to make their own way in life and help others along the way.

I really hope you benefit from using this journal.  My Grandad aka Farthy always used to say ‘better out than in’.

I have also created a community (on Facebook) where you can come talk, share stories, offer advice (based on your own experiences) and maybe just have a laugh (best medicine they say). I look forward to seeing you there.

Much love

Sam x

Meet my therapist aka Charlie Boy. Pets are the best free therapy anyone can have. I love all animals, especially dogs. That’s why 40% profit of every sale will be donated to Battersea Dogs & Cats Home via Work for Good. If you're here to have a nose and not buy a journal, please donate what you can to this amazing charity. Thank you.

Always celebrate your achievements, no matter how big or small. Celebrate yourself! Even when we think we have nothing to be grateful for I always say ‘we woke up this morning’.

Life is short, grab it with both hands and LIVE!

The Journal

This Journal has 90 Rant and 90 Rave pages. Designed for you to get out all the negativity you’ve been holding in and that’s probably been affecting your mental health. Then write positive things about yourself to lift yourself up, because let’s face it - you always need to end on a high. Rant out the negativity and Rave in the positivity! There’s also some other pages to help guide you through the Journal and your Journey. You will find more information on ‘The Journal’ page and then head to the ‘Shop’ page and grab your copy!

What makes this journal different from others?

This is not a dear diary moment, this is a journey. There’s tips and a guide to help you complete it each day, but most importantly there’s a community there to support you. I’m on this journey with you too.

It’s also about self awareness - are you aware that what you’re holding in is affecting everything you do? Are you aware how amazing you actually are??!
